Thanks for celebrating this April Anniversary with me!
Oh...you didn't know?
It's MyChipCarving's 15th Anniversary ❗❗
🥳🎈15th Anniversary Party 🎈🥳
In April, 2007, I posted my first video on YouTube and officially kicked off MyChipCarving.com. I was teaching online at NorthStar Academy at the time and would continue teaching until 2011 when MCC was more
established.
This first video was recorded using the webcam on my laptop pointed down at my lap. YouTube was fairly new at the time and so were my videos on chip carving. I think I may have been the only one doing this and my timing couldn't have been better.
Subscribers to my channel grew rapidly, upwards of 1,000 each month at some points. I was pretty jazzed! (haha, from last week)
Fast-forward several years to 2015, a couple of website updates, an active Member base and I was ready to make a new program available to teach you how to teach others how to chip carve!
This new Launch in 2015 was the...
If you're new to MyChipCarving, I spent 30 years teaching middle school and some high school. These years were split in private Christian schools stateside and overseas and the last 11 years in an online school. You can see
why "instruction..." is one of the three goals I established for MCC from the start.
Here's what the CCCI Program is all about...
The Certified Chip Carving Instructor Program (CCCI) will provide you with necessary teaching tools to teach others how to chip carve!... With this Certified Program you will gain the skills and confidence needed to provide quality instruction... your skills will improve a LOT when you start teaching
others how to chip carve... CCCI will teach you how to teach and inspire others. (read more...)
Since this program started, 19 students have graduated!
Here's what one CCCI graduate had to say...
Hi – I am Todd. I just completed the CCCI programand have to say it was excellent. I was new to Chip Carving and wanted to learn as well as learn how to teach Chip
Carving to others. This is an excellent program that teaches you how to teach others while learning and improving your skills at the same time. CHECK IT OUT.
Last week a new student enrolled (who I hope will be graduate #20) which gave me a jumpstart to update all of the lessons and materials previously developed. As I was going through each lesson I got excited all over again as to the potential to spread the joy of chip carving far and wide and the possible teaching opportunities for each student who completes the CCCI Program.
My guarantee with this Program:
100% Satisfaction Guarantee- After completing this program, if you have not become a better chip carver and a confident instructor ready to teach your first class, I will provide you with the instruction needed or a full tuition refund.
"Thanks, Marty for a great set of classes and assignments. I have learned so much on improving my own carving and how to pass it along to others in teaching. The flow of assignments and information was good allowing good
progression of skills needed to make progress. The lessons helped me grow as a carver and will give me the confidence to teach others. Thanks again. Pete"

April PROJECT & PATTERN!
Last month, Troy Nelson was announced as the First Place winner of the Layered Pattern Contest!
His Prize was a carved and finished project of his winning design by yours truly.
The April Project & Pattern was created from Troy's pattern. One side is the layered carving and the back side has a cork on it and can be used as a coaster!
This new project only comes with the pattern applied because the cut out openings are so close to the pattern edges that applying the pattern after drilling the holes would be pretty touchy.
