Shelley, 2 grandkids and Chip and me are at my dad's in Wisconsin for a family gathering and to celebrate his 93rd birthday a bit early.

Before leaving home I broke open my cabinet that has a lot of miscellaneous carvings, some finished and others in various stages of carving. I wanted to take something with me to carve during down times or before others arrived or when they were out and about doing something with other friends.

This past week my grandson Solomon, Chip and I took a trip to check out a first truck for him. We were looking for a project the two of us could work on where he can learn and save a lot of money when buying a first vehicle. God blessed him with this 97 GMC that needs minor repairs to make it road worthy. Getting it pulled on the trailer was an experience both of us will remember.

Do you remember your first vehicle?

Mine was a 63 Chevy Biscayne, 4 door, straight 6, 3 on the tree!

It was my Uncle Melvin's car he had on the farm.
