Last week I came to you from my dad's home in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Just so happens that I'm here again! Dad has some torn hamstring muscles and is in the hospital so I'm with him as he transitions to a rehab facility while he heals. Healing should take about 4-6 weeks.
This brings me to the Subject Line of this email.
Here's one reason why...chip carving is a great hobby.
Reason #1: Chip carving goes wherever you go!
Last week I grabbed this box from my closet and got the ends carved. All I had to pack for my 1st trip was the box, turntable, knives and strop.
Making the turnaround to drive back, I picked up the same things plus a couple more items that were waiting for me to finish.
No bench vise, chisels, gouges, mallets or other assorted tools are needed.
Quick and easy!
Chip carving goes wherever you go!
Here's a glimpse of what I carved during my hospital visits the past couple of days. I bet they've never had to sweep up chips in a patient's room before!
You'll thank me later when I tell you that you really need a Turntable when carving curves and circles. It really helps your curves turn out smooth and chatter-free (with Modified
Knife).
One final thing...I was wearing my MyChipCarving T-shirt and one of the attendants asked me what chip carving was, telling me that she has been looking for a handmade gift for her friends. Of course I gave her one of my cards. 😀
In next Tuesday's webinar (yes, it's one week early) we'll be carving a new font! If you love carving letters and numbers as much as I do you'll want to attend.
Of course, if you can't make it to the Live Platinum Member event, you can always watch the replay.
