What's better? A Flat Ground or Hollow Ground Blade?
I answer this question in the following video.
In the video I explain that there's a balance between strength and how thin the blade is.
Â
With the new Basswood Diamond Knives, I've been hollow grinding the blades to make a thin
yet strong and not brittle blade. I'm looking forward to getting some feedback from you as to how they perform and what you think of the blades.Â
Â
These are the same flat ground Diamond blades used in the Diamond Bocote and Diamond Deluxe Knives. I just add the hollow grinding before sharpening.
Â
IF you have a Diamond Knife(s) and would like me to hollow grind the edge for you, I'm glad to do so. Send them to me with a check for return postage and I'll
make it happen. Please understand that I'm doing these by hand, one at a time, so the hollow grind won't be perfectly straight and consistent like a machine. As always, I stand behind all of my knives so if the tip breaks I'll repair or replace it for free.Â
