Dmitrov is a Russian carver who creates marvelous work. I immediately knew it was his hand when I saw this...

Depth, visual illusion, mild blended coloring, interesting shadows and a balanced arrangement. Marvelous!

He lives in Russia so his website is shutdown at this time. But here is some more of his work from his IG page.

I like to make furniture and turned items and accent them with chip carving. This is a walnut box with the rope pattern carving. Finished with shellac.

Roger adds Chip Carving to Santa

I do a little chip carving on some of my Santa Carvings. It is a challenge because the layout is freehand and the carving is not flat and does not offer a good hand position. I thought you might like to see this different application and any suggestions are appreciated.
