Last week I mentioned how much I enjoy chip carving letters and numbers and the positive way they add a special touch to any chip carved project.
During the live Platinum Member Webinar last Tuesday night, I showed everyone how to carve the Ambrosia font I used on this
Valentine's Box for Shelley. Lots of carved daisies instead of live ones. 🌻
BTW, if you want to learn how to line the inside of a box, watch the video at the end of this email.
Before I demonstrated how to carve this new font, I thought everyone would like to see how I easily selected the font using Open Office (free).
Once selected, using Inkscape (free) to make this saying fit the space on my box only took two tries. I showed how to make it the right length so it wrapped around the top and side and ended exactly in the lower corner of the box.
Here's a high-speed look at the letter carving part of the webinar!
I'd like to teach you how to chip carve letters and numbers!
That way you'll have access to this Letters & Numbers Course AND all of the OTHER Courses, Videos and Patterns I've created and will create in the future!
Dear Marty, I am attaching some pics of my latest. What do you think? On the back, as you can easily tell, one rosette was a failure, so it ended up as a jagged
wheel...
And my reply...
Well done, friend! I like the Gothic border on the edge.
The "failure" on the back = success in what you learned!
Thanks for sharing.
With his response... Thank you kindly, Marty!
Yes, the failure was certainly a lesson in paying attention to woodgrain. ;))
