This pattern consists of 4 Rosettes from the Rosette Course set into a grid background. Take the Rosette Course to learn how to carve the Rosettes and look at the Chip Out Course to avoid any problems when carving the grid pattern. The top and bottom borders are covered, as you'd expect, in the Borders Course.Â

AB raised a good question
Marty,
Hello A, Great to hear from you!
Â
How do you keep a consistent depth when carving? I find I have to constantly go back and fix my cuts.
Solid question. When first starting I suggest you cut deep
enough for the chip to come out on without any clean up. Don't worry so much about undercutting (cutting too deep) right now.Â
Â
The main Course I created to help you to develop consistency with cutting depth is the Deliberate Practice Course. The main goal of this Course is consistent depth! You'll remove chips one-at-a-time and give yourself feedback. The process is clearly explained and I know you'll see improvement in your chip carving with less clean up needed as you complete the
lessons.Â
Â
 I'm slowly going through
the courses (I'll likely start doing my own pattern transfers once I find my wood burner tool) and enjoying the time it takes I get to spend on my hobby.
Good plan!
Â
I don't have a lot of free time,
but I try to spend at least 20 min every other day on honing the craftÂ
Slow and Steady wins the race. 20 minutes every other day is a good learning schedule for you. Keep at it.
I'll be here to help you along the way. Keep in touch!

Mike's Recognizable Work
More of Mike's chip carving was posted on Facebook recently. I hope you get some inspiration and joy after looking at these items.
Maybe I should make a cutout of Chip and chip carve Chip?Â
