Last week I shared about how important it is to...PRACTICE THE BASICS!!
And...before that I mentioned how I had the
opportunity to teach chip carving with chisels to a group of men in Guatemala.
Well, it just so happens that both of these two things got combined as the men have continued to carve and work on the basics! This is really encouraging to me. When I left I hoped some of them would continue, but there were no guarantees.
Luis is getting them more wood to carve and sent me
these pictures.
Being creative!
New Project for September!
This month I'll be showing you how to carve and finish a 10" Flat Plate.
If you'd like to get your own basswood plate so you're ready to carve one with me, CLICK HERE to order yours.
Here's the pattern I designed.
The center rosette is one of my favorites that I carved for a customer quite awhile ago.
I had to create the rosette pattern and the leaf border pattern because I didn't have a digital copy of either.
When I was creating and editing the patterns to fit the plate, I realized that the process I go through is routine for me but most likely new for you. Even applying the pattern involves a unique process because it is wider than standard 8-1/2"
paper.
So what I'm planning is to demonstrate the entire process during this month's Live Platinum Member Webinar, Tuesday, September 12th, 7pm CT.
