I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday and survived Black Friday. My family and I enjoyed a relaxing dinner with my parents, and as usual, I left stuffed! 😂
Although Thanksgiving dinner was relaxing, the rest of the week was busier than I anticipated working on a new batch of knives and replenishing
some stock. Which meant I didn’t get to the ornaments that I mentioned in last week’s newsletter. ☹️While it is a little disappointing not being able to accomplish my original plans, that’s life sometimes. I still have time to work on them for Christmas, so all is not lost!
I needed to remind myself that carving just 10 minutes a day is enough to help unwind and make some progress. As the Christmas season is now upon us, I hope you’ll be able to enjoy and relax with a little
carving time each day. One of the great things about chip carving is there’s not a lot of setup time involved, if any! It also means there’s not a lot of cleanup when you’re finished. 😊
These cookie molds are a fun project that result in a sweet reward!
Each cookie mold consists of a 2.75" (approx.) circle of 0.5" thick basswood, with a 1.25" ball knob with a flat base.
After carving the design into the mold, simply glue the knob on the back and then apply a food-safe finish of your choosing. I used a General Finishes Butcher Block Oil that I already had on hand. It's
made from a white mineral oil.
You Can Order Cookie Molds blank or with a Pattern already applied!
Blank Cookie Molds are 1 for $7, or buy 2 for

Cookie Molds with Pattern are 1 for $9, or 2 for $16.50
