Last Saturday my family was fortunate enough to attend the University of Texas vs University of Georgia football game. While the result of the game wasn’t what we were hoping for, the atmosphere, anticipation, and excitement surrounding the game was quite an experience.
For those that don’t follow college
football, it was a game between the #1 ranked team vs. the #5 ranked team. One entertaining part of the game involved the home team’s entrance at the start. Music starts playing while the large video screen shows the players walking through the hallways from the locker room to the field entrance surrounded by neon lights. The music slowly builds and crescendos as the team runs onto the field. It was quite a production and I could only imagine how inspiring it must be to potential recruits
considering playing football at the University of Texas.
While I may not be able to provide the same level of inspiration to start that next chip carving project as a jam-packed stadium cheering you on, ‘to inspire’ is still an important part of the My Chip Carving mission. Creating a new project each month is one way I hope to inspire you in your chip carving endeavor. This weekly email is another. However, I’m thankful I’m not the only source of chip carving
inspiration – you are too!!
Sharing your stories and finished carvings also inspires others. It might be a pattern, finishing technique, or backstory that motivates others to spend some time chip carving, and that’s what this is all about. Thank you for continuing to be a part of the My Chip Carving community and sharing your latest projects!
My journey to MCC(My Chip Carving) was very much like yours. I'd been chip carving for some years, using mostly patterns from my Wayne Barton books. Then a friend who I'd introduced to chip carving discovered MCC and shared the
site with me.
I did like you, and considered purchasing one course, but realized what the Platinum Membership could provide, and I jumped on board. It's the best thing I ever could have done to improve and expand my chip carving skills.
Besides the patterns, courses, and resources MCC provides, the personal responses and attention, and the interactive webinars, have really made a
difference for me. From the start, I have never felt like "just another customer."
Thanks for carrying on that tradition of service and support! I look forward to the years to come.
One of the things I've really enjoyed learning from MCC is about resources to help me create my own patterns.
I'm not super creative when it comes to coming up with my own ideas, so having something to
trigger ideas is really helpful.
Amaziograph was one of those resources for me. I've always loved playing around with geometric designs, and this app was a great find!
I frequently take my iPad when I travel, so I can "carve" without a knife.
Here's a project I created using Amaziograph. It's an 8" plate from MCC, and "Best of Division" at a show last
month.
MCC truly lives up to its mission to "inspire, instruct & equip".
Thank you!

Thank you for sharing Jon! I appreciate you sharing the information on Amaziograph and how it's helped you create patterns. Congratulations on another excellent carving!
