Hear about my day at the Texas Woodcarvers Guild Spring Roundup.
Howdy !
A while ago, I wrote about the value of carving clubs as a way to spend time with fellow carvers and share information. Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of attending the Texas Woodcarvers Guild's Spring Roundup, and it
was a great experience!
The event was a fantastic opportunity to see a wide variety of carvings and meet some of our fellow My Chip Carving members. The carvings on display were impressive. There were a lot of great caricatures, relief carvings, basket weave illusions, wood burnings, gourds, and chip carvings, too, of course! I was too busy taking everything in and talking with others that I forgot to take pictures! 😲
It's always inspiring to see the
creativity and skill within the carving community, and events like these allow you to see what others are doing and maybe spark some new ideas. Whether you're a seasoned carver or just starting, there's always something new to learn and appreciate.
What have you been working on? I'd love to see pictures of your latest projects!
