Steps on defining the folder the newsletter is delivered to.
Howdy !
If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance our newsletter landed in your Promotions folder instead of the Primary Inbox. I know how easy it is for important updates, project ideas, and community stories to get lost in the shuffle—so let’s make sure you never miss a chip carving tip or a new pattern announcement
again!
Here are some quick steps for the most popular email providers to move these emails to your Primary tab or main inbox:
Gmail: Drag this email from the Promotions tab to the Primary tab. When prompted, select “Yes” to do this for future messages. You can also add troy@mychipcarving.com to your Google Contacts for extra assurance.
Outlook: Right-click this email and choose “Move to Focused
Inbox.” For future emails, create a rule to always move messages from troy@mychipcarving.com to your Focused Inbox.
Apple Mail: Tap on the sender’s name at the top of the email and select “Add to VIPs.” This ensures you’ll see future newsletters front and center.
Taking a minute to do this means you won’t miss out on new chip carving projects, technique tips, or special promotions. I want you to have easy access to the latest
patterns and community stories—right where you’ll see them!
July's Monthly Project
8 inch Scalloped Flat Plate:
Old World Style Rosette Pattern
The combination of OWS and Swiss Style chips in this month's project creates a variety of shadows to highlight the carved areas.

I've just finished surface-staining some projects. I wanted to see how different stains would look, to help decide future projects.
The gel stain colors I used are (from left to right on the phone holders):
Dark Mahogany
Dark Walnut
Cherry
Cedar
I'm still experimenting with spray sealer vs. a satin
finish to prep the wood before staining, and how many coats to apply. That may account for the color variations of the same stain finish. (I had sprayed some of them a while back in prep for full stain, and can't remember what I did.)
Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.
Thanks for the continued inspiration to try new things!
Jon
Hello Jon,
Thanks for sharing these. They look fantastic! I love the variety of colors and how clean the application is.
My family decided they wanted to spend some time with me, so I'll be 'offline' one more week with very limited access to email and phone. I'll try to respond to all email and voice messages as quick as I can when I return to the
'office'.
This does NOT affect any orders of in-stock items. Bethany will still be shipping orders as they are received.
Thank you for your patience and
understanding!
