As we kick off 2026, I’m excited to share this month’s project, a 6” Candle Dish Plate featuring a Modified Gothic Leaf and Fan pattern. What makes it “modified”? Instead of the usual single uncarved area in each leaf (left picture), I’ve added two(right
picture).
That opens the door for all sorts of variations—traditional cross (flip-flop chips), a few stab knife accents, or even leaving them uncarved for a cleaner look. In my example, I alternated between the classic cross and some stab knife accents.
