Hello ,
Do you remember the statement I shared with you last month?
Here it is...
You don't know what you don't know.
I really put that saying into practice in my life in November. You see, I'm still not sure what exactly got into me, but I decided to get a puppy. Yes, a 10-week old, ball of cuteness and energy, chocolate Labradoodle.
The reason I didn't know what I didn't know, was that I've had 2 farm dogs since moving to the farmland of Minnesota. Now farm dogs are one thing...feed 'em, play with 'em, make sure they stay home and don't run wild (which was a challenge) and let them do their thing outside.
But a puppy! I haven't had a little baby in the house for 25 years! Getting up a couple times a night to take him outside to do his business, giving him plenty of things to chew so he doesn't destroy the furniture, keeping him away from the mouse poison in the barn and when that didn't work when I turned away for just a minute, giving him the special sauce to puke up all the green Tomcat stick that he gnawed on. Are you seeing that "I didn't know what I didn't know"!
I got to the point where I didn't think I could do it so I put an ad out to find another home for him. I was behind on my work and my office and shop were turned upside down. Being someone who likes order this has been driving me crazy. After exchanging texts with several people interested in adopting him, I realized that what I can give this pup on the farm is more than most can give. A large farm yard to run, a friendly dog of Bethany's he can play with and minimal crate time because
I work from home. He is quite a nice shop dog too :-) So...he's here to stay and I hope both of us will the better for it in the long run.
