I've been sharing with you this month, places you can look to find pattern ideas.

Rugs, carpeting and materials have all kinds of patterns in them that you can use as a chip carving pattern.

I searched "textile patterns" in Google Images and selected these!

You can decide whether to carve negative image or positive! Or both!

These thin leaves really caught my attention as a pattern that could be chip carved.

Wow! Don't let the colors distract you from this cool design.

Wouldn't it make a great carving!

This one is more straightforward when it comes to how it could be carved.

Free form! Let your knife go wild on something like this.

There are plenty more to look at and give you ideas. You'll need to do some "editing" with these but they will definitely get your creative wheels turning.

#4 - TanglePatterns.com

The Tanglepatterns.com website is a great resource when it comes to getting ideas for your own patterns.

At the top of the homepage you'll see a scrolling row of patterns.

Look below this and you'll see a pink row from A-Z. When you see a pattern that interests you as they scroll by, check out the name and click on the corresponding pink letter.

I noticed On Target and clicked on the letter O.

Scrolling down the page I came to On Target and clicked on it.

The On Target page showed up and provided me with directions on how to draw this pattern. Now you can draw it freehand or use one of the computer apps or programs I shared with you in March to create your own pattern!

I love this pattern! It switches from negative to positive image to create an illusion.
