Last Saturday morning, my chip carved sculpture was installed in the Walking Sculpture Tour 2021 in Mankato, Minnesota.
This is the second year I've been accepted and I want to share it with you so you can see another example of what can be done on a large scale with chip carving.
The sculpture is a 32-sided rotating sphere consisting of 20 hexagons that I carved and 12 plain black pentagons. The material is 20 pound density EZboard (high density urethane) painted with Rustoleum 2X Ultra Cover acrylic spray paint. After all the pieces were carved and painted I assembled it using Star Bond Super Glue (after a failed attempt using a different glue).
My friend, Joe, at Neubert Welding and Metalwork, created the base and D and K Powder Coating applied the base paint.

Your vote will support my work, chip carving and art! Thank you!
Mine is #3 and currently only shows the concept drawing of my piece. I've submitted a picture and hopefully they will update it soon.
